How U.S. Veterans Can Be Protected from Fraud

America’s Heroes Group podcast, episode 307, addresses the topic of caregiving and protecting senior Veterans from fraud. Keisha L. Jackson, a caregiver and U.S. Air Force Veteran joins us along with panelist Troy Broussard, a Veteran and Senior Advisor with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Veterans and Military Families Initiatives.

“There was a report by the Federal Trade Commission done in 2021 that found that over 260 million dollars was lost from specific scams targeting Veterans and their families,” Broussard said. “Scammers know that Veterans have access to different benefits than the regular population.”

AARP aims to empower people as they age and has initiatives to improve the lives of senior Veterans from health benefits, educational resources, and assistance in avoiding fraud.

America Heroes Group’s mission is to honor and respect the relentless commitment, ultimate sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of our retired Veterans and Active Service members thereby empowering and transforming their lives as they age in place and reacclimate back into society through identifying and positioning local and national communities as military friendly.
